Pain is a clue - not a curse

A runner once told me, “I love running… I just don’t love how it makes my knees feel.”

Maybe you’ve had a version of that conversation with yourself. Tight calves. Achy hips. A stubborn twinge that shows up at the same kilometre every time, like clockwork with a grudge.

Most of us were taught to treat pain like a wall to push through. Be tougher. Stretch more. Buy better shoes. Try to outlast it. But what if pain isn’t an enemy? What if it is giving us feedback? A signal that something in the way we’re moving is slightly off balance?

That’s where Chi Running changes the story.

Instead of fighting the body, we learn to listen to it. Instead of powering through with muscle, we begin to move with structure, alignment, and gravity on our side. When posture improves and excess effort softens, something surprising happens. The pounding eases. The tension drops. Running starts to feel lighter. Not because you’re stronger, but because you’re smarter in how you move.

I’ve watched runners shift from managing pain to understanding it. From bracing for impact to flowing forward with confidence. It doesn’t require extreme fitness or dramatic changes. It begins with awareness, a few simple adjustments, and a willingness to let the body teach you.

If you’re curious what that might feel like, I’d love to show you.
